Auld Mary

Auld Mary sits unmarried but ready

Her blue carapace is immaculate

And celebrated by the giddy throng of seagulls

Her white sides are bridal white

Curvaceous opposite the strand of DNA like cloud

That lingers over Edinburgh and her Salisbury Crags

Other Maidens have been where she bides

Hynd, Kingfisher, Eastern Dawn and Cubbie Braes

They all like the Monarch sat in this *harbour.

*Dysart Harbour, Fife
